And what a band, at various times featuring Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Larry Goldings, Pee Wee Ellis and BOOTSIE Collins. (many of whom went on to play with the P-Funk.)

The GFOS changed the face of modern music, and for the better. I just never much liked him because of the drugs and the booze and the womanizing; he just always seemed like kind of a low life to me. But, damn, the music!
